Tonight, on Hannity & Colmes!

• Wild fires have blazed through Southern California, killing at least 17 people and destroying more than 1,100 homes in the state’s deadliest outbreak of fires in more than a decade.

Could the wildfires have been prevented? Is Congress right now sitting on legislation that would have provided funding for fuel reduction in Southern California -- And might have reduced the massive spread of this devastating blaze?

We'll ask Sean Cosgrove, a Sierra Club forest policy specialist.

President Bush has declared the state a major disaster area and ordered federal aid to supplement state and local recovery efforts. How involved will both the state and federal governments be in repairing wildfire-devastated California?

Rep. Scott McInnis, R-Colo., will assess the situation.

• A car bomb exploded near a police station in the tense city of Fallujah (search), killing at least six people, witnesses said. The attack comes a day after homicide bombers struck the Red Cross headquarters and three police stations in Baghdad, killing about three-dozen people and causing foreign organizations to weigh their role in the insurgency-plagued nation.

Should the U.S. forces in Iraq alter their strategy in response to the ubiquitous violence in the country?

Former National Security Adviser Sandy Berger weighs in.

Bill Bennett will also join the discussion during his usual Tuesday night visit.

• Ten months after Laci Peterson (search) vanished without a trace from her Modesto home, prosecutors prepare to show that her husband murdered her and their unborn son nearly four months before they washed up in the San Francisco Bay.

The preliminary hearing to determine whether Scott Peterson (search) will stand trial on two counts of first-degree murder and whether prosecutors will be able to pursue the death penalty begins tomorrow in Stanislaus County Superior Court.

What new tragic details may come forward during the hearing? Does the prosecution have strong enough evidence to ensure this case will make it to trial? What theory will the defense argue?

FOX's own Geraldo Rivera will be here.

• And author Joel Rosenberg will give us a synopsis of his book, The Last Days .

All these stories and more!
