"If my friends watch, I just ask them not to bring it up to me," Guiney's ex-wife, Jennifer Lantz (search), told Us Weekly.
Guiney and Lantz, his college sweetheart at Michigan State University (search), were married for two-and-a-half years and were separated for several months before divorcing.
Lantz says she wishes her ex well - but from a distance.
"This is his life, and whatever he wants to do, I'm happy with that," she told Us Weekly. "I moved on. It looks like he's moving on."
Friends tell Us that the couple "just grew apart," and that Guiney took a long time to recover from the split.
"I would go to the office at the crack of dawn and stay there until late at night," said Guiney, 32.
Guiney was asked to host the fourth edition of "The Bachelor" after appearing on the third version, in which Trista Rehn (search) chose Ryan Sutter (they're getting married in prime time, on ABC, in November).
The second episode of "The Bachelor" airs tonight. Last week's opener grabbed 12.5 million viewers.
