Chevy Chase (search) — the former "Saturday Night Live" funnyman — is hawking a new Turkish cola that's gunning to take the fizz out of Pepsi and Coke.

The TV ads for Cola Turka — in which American citizens turn into fluent Turks after swigging the soft drink — have become increasingly popular as the Turks blast the United States for the war in Iraq, according to Advertising Age.

In one commercial, Chase begins speaking Turkish and grows a thick peasant moustache after sipping the soda, which is manufactured in Istanbul.

He and his family also sing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" until they swig Cola Turka and break into a Turkish-language Boy Scout song.

The spots were created by the Istanbul branch of ad giant Young & Rubicam.
