Gwyneth Paltrow, The Hulk and Harrison Ford

Gwyneth Paltrow's career woes, The Hulk's sensitive side and Harrison Ford's box office blunder in The Foxlight.

Is Gwyneth Paltrow's career in trouble? The New York Post thinks so. They say she has good reason to be depressed besides the fact that she's playing the suicidal poet Sylvia Plath in her upcoming film Sylvia. The film is a turkey, according to one of their spies. But her spokesman says Gwyneth loves the film and will be looking very happy soon on three major magazine covers.

Meanwhile, can you name her last big hit? It wasn't View From the Top, Possession, The Royal Tenenbaums, Bounce or Duets. Those were her last five films. In fact her only modest hit since Shakespeare in Love was the very unglamorous Shallow Hal in 2001. Remember when she was a real industry heavyweight?

Is The Hulk really in trouble? Not according to Sam Elliott. He calls the Ang Lee movie several cuts above the normal comic book fare. He says there's a human story. Uh-oh. That doesn't make me feel any better. It's The Hulk. End of story. He does concede that if the "green guy" doesn't work, the film doesn't work. He says the film works. Of course, he's in it.

Finally, can Harrison Ford still open a film? Maybe if you're at theater and he gets the door for you. Hollywood Homicide's living up to its name. It made only $11 during its first weekend.
