American armored vehicles pushed into Baghdad in full force Sunday, with troops killing as many as 3,000 Iraqi soldiers in the fight, U.S. Central Command said.

In southern Iraq, British forces made their deepest drive into Basra yet, with a column of 40 armored personnel carriers rolling into the country's second-biggest city after a series of strikes on Saddam Hussein's loyalist defenders.
