NEW YORK – West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin is in trouble again.
His bosses at Warner Bros. studio have slapped Sorkin with an order to stop going over budget, according to a memo obtained by Entertainment Weekly.
The memo appears to have thrown into question Sorkin's future with the series he created but which has also lost more than 20 percent of its viewers in the last few seasons.
The studio put him on notice that it will no longer tolerate cost overruns on West Wing, due in part of Sorkin's habit of delivering scripts late.
The three-time Emmy winner writes almost all of the show's dialogue himself.
Despite buzz that the studio may be getting ready to replace Sorkin, a Warner Bros. rep says that he remains on West Wing and is under contract with the studio for one more season.
