David Gest's behavior "went so far beyond the acceptable bounds of show-business eccentricity" that he doomed an Osbournes-style reality TV show about his and Liza Minnelli's married life, MTV Networks says.

The pair last year sued the network over the cancellation of the show Liza and David, planned for the company's VH-1 music channel.

But in a countersuit in Manhattan Supreme Court, MTV said that although it has "worked with the full spectrum of entertainment personalities, nothing prepared them for the obstructionist behavior and utter lack of professionalism" displayed by Gest.

Gest insisted that the company pay for "multiple and repeated cleanings" of the floors of the couple's Upper East Side apartment -- including one that cost $7,500, said papers posted yesterday at Court TV's Smoking Gun Web site.
