NEW YORK – Stuttering John, meet Melissa Rivers.
Howard Stern's sidekick and the E! host are among the celebs who will appear in I'm a Celebrity - Get Me Out of Here! a reality show on ABC next month.
Stuttering John and Rivers will be joined by Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous creator Robin Leach, ex-Olympian Bruce Jenner, Alana Stewart (Rod's ex), model Tyson Beckford, "Downtown" Julie Brown and an eighth cast member who will be announced at a later date.
Celebrity, a knockoff of a successful British TV show, will air live over 15 consecutive nights next month (dates to be announced).
In the show, the eight celebrities will be followed as they live under primitive conditions in the Australian rainforest without their creature comforts (cell phones, mineral water, collagen, etc.), sleeping on cots and eating rice, beans and water.
During the first week of the show, viewers will vote via phone or abc.com for one of the stars to undertake a specific challenge each night -- dubbed "The Bush Tucker Trial" -- in order to win extra food for the group.
In the final week, viewers will vote to keep their favorites in the camp -- with the star receiving the least amount of votes forced to leave the group.
The remaining celebrity at the end of the trial will emerge as the "King" or "Queen" of the Jungle -- and will win a sizable chunk of change for his/her favorite charity.
ABC's announcement comes one day after it successfully blocked a challenge from CBS, which went to court saying I'm a Celebrity was a ripoff of its reality hit, Survivor.
