The next big Star Wars is going to be a cartoon.

Cable's Cartoon Network has reportedly signed a deal with Star Wars creator George Lucas to produce a series of animated short films set in the same Star Wars universe inhabited by Jedi knights and Darth Vader.

The series, tentatively titled Clone Wars, is set to be overseen by Lucas and animation wunderkind Genndy Tartakovsky, the creative force behind the network's cult hit, Samurai Jack, according to the Web site aintitcoolnews.com.
