A Malaysian court opened a hearing Wednesday in the case of an American citizen who is fighting an extradition order to the United States, where he face terrorism charges. The U.S. government has charged Ahmed Ibrahim Bilal and five others with belonging to a terrorist cell in Portland, Ore., and trying to join Al Qaeda to battle U.S. troops in Afghanistan. Four of the others were arrested last week and the sixth is being sought. One of the group’s former college professor says its hard to believe his former student is involved in terrorism and shocked at the charges.
