America is getting its first real look at the new Bachelor - Aaron Buerge - and the back-biting has begun.

ABC had kept the lid on the latest star of its hit marathon dating show until Wednesday's debut episode of The Bachelor.

Buerge's first night of fame is generating intense Internet buzz about the single guy who will choose a potential bride from the 15 women left on the show. (Ten were eliminated the first night.)

"I have known Aaron for about six years, and he is a nice guy -- but he is also a big player," writes "kaseylovesherjob" on ABC's Bachelor message board.

"He has always been like that. I'm not saying he won't meet the right girl on the show . . . however, he is good-looking but he also knows he is.

"I think he is looking at making himself famous more than trying to find a girl he wants to spend his life with.

"He is only after bettering his career in acting."

What acting career?

"Aaron so does not want to be an actor," says a show spokeswoman. "He's more interested in sports and playing the piano."

He also had his own Web page on Yahoo.com -- but that's been yanked off the 'net (probably since he joined The Bachelor).

It's those things that have devoted Bachelor fans once again buzzing about the show.

"I have to admit that I was intrigued with the show [Wednesday] night. I am not usually interested in reality shows," writes "jennylyn62" on the show's message board.

"I know that I saw [Aaron] making out with at least three or four of [the women]. Not just a peck-of-a-kiss, but making out.

"I am not sure if I was the 'winner' I would be very appreciative of the fact that this guy made out with the other women . . . He is really taking advantage of the situation."

"Trust me, Aaron isn't as perfect as one would think," writes "uclarodent" on the Bachelor message board. "ABC does a good job marketing him to get folks to watch."
