NEW YORK – Bruce is still The Boss of the charts, with his The Rising taking the No. 1 spot on the Top Album Sales Charts for the second consecutive week.
Springsteen's latest, which reflects the attacks and aftermath of Sept. 11, sold 239,000 copies last week, according to SoundScan.
And judging from the upcoming album release schedule, the spot will be his for the rest of August.
Rappers stayed strong, too. Nelly's Nellyville, is still hot, taking the No. 2 spot, while Eminem's The Eminem Show, which has now sold 4.9 million copies, hit No. 3.
Gangsta rappers also were on the rise this week, with Scarface's Fix debuting at No. 4, Trick Daddy's Thug Holiday at No. 6, and Project Pat's Layin' Da Smack Down at No. 12.
Rounding out the top 10 were: Volume 10: Now that's what I call Music (No. 5); Linkin Park's Reanimation (No. 7); Toby Keith's Unleashed (No. 8) Avril Lavigne's Let Go (No. 9) and the Dave Matthews Band Busted Stuff (No. 10).
