NEW YORK – Spider-Man wants his MTV — and he's got it.
Fresh off the record-shattering box-office opening weekend of Spider-Man, a new TV cartoon series is heading to the small screen.
MTV will debut the newest version of the popular Marvel Comics hero as a computer-animated series starting next winter.
The show will feature Doogie Howser star Neil Patrick Harris as the voice of Spider-Man and his alter ego, Peter Parker.
But in this version of the Spidey saga, instead of being a newspaper photographer, Parker will be a Web designer for a newspaper's Internet site. Songstress Lisa Loeb will play the voice of Mary Jane Watson, Parker's girlfriend. And Ian Ziering (Beverly Hills 90210) will play the voice of Harry Osborn, Parker's friend and the son and successor of Norman Osborn, the original Green Goblin.
