A woman who posed as a nurse to fraudulently collect donations intended for World Trade Center victims must pay back everyone who gave her money — once investigators determine how much she took in.

Kelly Hill, 29, pleaded no contest to a fraud charge and was sentenced Thursday to a year of house arrest and 150 hours community service plus restitution.

Hill sat outside two supermarkets in the days after the Sept. 11 attacks, telling people she was a nurse from Bayfront Medical Center collecting money for victims.

When arrested, she had a little bucket with a sign saying the money was for the Red Cross, authorities said.

Police determined she was not a nurse, didn't work at Bayfront and didn't send any money to the Red Cross.

How much Hill collected remains unknown. Court records list more than 50 victims and police asked the public for help in finding other donors.
