LONDON – There'll be no shortage of storytelling in the Harry Potter movie due for release next month, if it runs at its present length — a hefty 2 1/2 hours, Britain's film classification board says.
The Web site of the British Board of Film Classification says "Harry Potter and The Philospher's Stone," was submitted at 152 minutes and 13 seconds, and "the work was passed with no cuts made."
The board gave Harry and the Hogwarts gang a PG rating, which means unaccompanied children of any age may watch, and that it should not disturb a child aged around 8 or older. Parents are advised to consider whether it might upset younger or more sensitive children.
The first movie to be adapted from J.K. Rowling's hugely successful book series about students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, is due for release in Britain and the United States on Nov. 16.
