Bill and 'Hannibal' Go Bikini Shopping

Call them the Boys from Ipanema.

Mouths in Rio de Janiero were agape yesterday as former President Bill Clinton went bikini shopping near the city's picturesque beaches with Hannibal star Anthony Hopkins.

As Clinton and Hopkins walked along the trendy Ipanema Beach promenade, chatting and taking in the sights, stunned beachgoers suddenly realized who they were and began following them.

Brazil media caught wind of the outing and dispatched photographers and television crews, who caught Clinton clad in Bermuda shorts, sneakers and a T-shirt, laughing and talking with the locals.

With throngs of tanned musclemen and bathing beauties cheering him on, Clinton knocked a volleyball around, then stopped to admire a sand sculpture someone had made.

But the highlight of the trip came when Clinton and the British actor entered the Blue Man beachwear boutique to check out Brazil's most famous fashion product: the bikini.

The former president liked what he saw and put down $113 for two bikinis and three sarongs, according to TV Globo. It wasn't known who'd be getting the sexy togs.

Clinton is scheduled to give a speech to professors and students at the Armando Alvares Penteado Foundation in Sao Paulo today.

He and Hopkins said they then plan to visit the spectacular Iguassu waterfall on the border with Argentina.
