NEW YORK – Sean "Puffy" Combs claims he's not afraid of arch rival Marion "Suge" Knight now that the Death Row Records head is out of prison.
Knight, the godfather of West Coast rap, was released Aug. 6 and came out talking smack about P. Diddy, calling him "a fake."
It's no secret that Knight, who had been incarcerated on a probation violation stemming from an assault conviction, hates Combs, fellow rap artist Snoop Dogg and anyone else Knight considers a threat or disloyal.
But Combs said he doesn't fear Knight and insists that the East-West rap rivalry is nothing more than media hype.
"Ain't nothing gonna flare up," Combs told this week's Details magazine, in his first comments about Knight's new freedom. "Somebody getting out of jail, that ain't got nothing to do with anything.
"There wasn't no East-West thing," Combs added. "I guess that's the way media likes to put it."
In a racy spread for Details, Combs splashes, grabs, ogles and poses through 16 glossy pages.
