NEW YORK – Goth rocker Marilyn Manson has lashed out at the lurid sex charge against him — insisting prosecutors are using trumped-up allegations to get him behind bars.
"This is nothing more than yet another attempt to run Marilyn Manson into the ground," the shock rocker raged yesterday on the message board of his official Web site, marilynmanson.net.
"They've done it before, and they are going to keep doing it until the day I die."
Last week, Manson — a k a 32-year-old Brian Warner — was accused of sexually assaulting a male security guard during his July 30 concert in Clarkstown, Mich.
Naked except for a G-string, Manson allegedly wrapped himself around Joshua Keasler, rubbing his genitals on the guard's head and neck — which fans thought was all part of the wacko rocker's show.
Manson, out of the country on a world tour, has denied the charges and questioned the timing of the warrant for his arrest, which was issued last Friday.
"There is no point to this. If they really wanted to see me rot in jail that bad, they would have booked me on [July] 30th," he ranted on his Web site.
"It comes down to love, hate and corruption, and Marilyn Manson thrives on that."
