Christopher F. Edley is a professor of law at Harvard University and co-director of the Civil Rights Project. His area of specialty is administrative law, problems of governance and public policy, and race and public policy.
Edley was made a faculty director of Harvard's Public Interest Programs between 1990-1992. He was the director of the Law and Governance Program in 1988. He became a professor of law in 1987 and served as an assistant professor of law for six years prior to that.
Edley has published several books, including Not All Black and White: Affirmative Action, Race, and American Values, Administrative Law: Rethinking Judicial Control of Bureaucracy.
Edley graduated from Swarthmore College in 1973 with a B.A. in Mathematics. He simultaneously earned a master's degree from Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government and a law degree from Harvard Law School in 1978.
