Hollywood Goes to War

Did you know that American Film Institute's Top 100 Movies ranking includes 22 that are war related? Plus, four of those are in the top ten.

Bill McCuddy, co-host of Entertainment Coast to Coast, will take us on a tour exploring this phenomenon: war as seen through the movies.

We will compare how war is presented today and how it was presented in the past. We'll start out with the day that will live in infamy, Dec. 7, 1941. How is Tora, Tora, Tora, the 1970 big budget war flick that has recently come out on DVD, different from Pearl Harbor, Hollywood's latest version of a war story?

Bill McCuddy also will take a close look at the themes associated with war movies: love and war, comedy and war, and the war of the future.

War is about courage, fear and bravery, but the heat of battle also can eat up another emotion. We'll show you the best love scenes from Braveheart to The English Patient.

What's so funny about death and destruction? When the best film makers make us laugh, the history lessons can be pretty hysterical. We'll show you a few of our favorites.

And we'll give you a sneak peek at futuristic wars. World War I was supposed to be the war that ends all wars, but that did not turn out to be true. How about World War III? Some filmmakers are forging ahead into the unknown. We'll give you a sneak peek.
