Vegetarian Kim Basinger is hopping mad at a famed Manhattan deli for naming a meat-filled sandwich after her.
The Kim Basinger Sandwich, a new addition to the Stage Deli menu, is stuffed with chicken and bacon.
And that's got the sexy actress fired up, her friends tell MSNBC gossip Jeannette Walls.
"Kim's absolutely appalled. She's a well-known animal-rights activist. Would they name a pork sandwich after a well-known Jewish leader?" one told Walls.
People For the Ethical Treatment of Animals, of which Basinger has been a staunch member for years, confirmed yesterday it is firing off a letter to the Stage, demanding the menu item be dropped immediately.
One Basinger pal says the superstar really doesn't mind lending her name to things she eats and wouldn't mind the popular deli dubbing a veggie burger, salad or vegetarian-pate dish after her.
The Stage, which routinely names its creations after celebs, said it hasn't heard from Basinger yet. And one worker told The Post the meaty Kim snack was selling just fine.
