Bio: Gen. Ron Adams

Ron Adams retired from active military service on January 1, 2002, after serving concurrently as Commanding General, United States Army NATO and Deputy Commander, Joint Headquarters Centre, Allied Command Europe.

Previously, General Adams served in a wide variety of command and staff positions in Vietnam; Korea; around the Pacific Rim; in the Middle East and in Europe, including service as Commander of the NATO led thirty-four nation Stabilization Force in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia. Although much of his service was outside the continental United States, General Adams also served on the Army General Staff, the Army Secretariat and the Joint Staff, during multiple tours of duty in the Pentagon.

Since leaving active duty, General Adams has worked as a consultant for a number of large companies and serves on several advisory boards for non-profit organizations, a private foundation and a public university.

A native of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, General Adams holds a masters degree from the Pennsylvania State University; completed the advanced management program at Carnegie-Mellon University; did additional graduate work at the University of Kentucky and was a Chief of Staff of the Army Strategic Fellow at the Army War College. He is a graduate of the Army Command and General Staff College and the National War College.
