Timothy James McVeigh, was the central suspect in the April 19, 1995, bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in downtown Oklahoma City that killed 168 people and injured more than 500. McVeigh, 27 at the time of the bombing, was convicted of 11 counts of murder and sentenced to death by the U.S. District Court. 

McVeigh is seeking a new trial, claiming his trial lawyer maintained a "dangerous dalliance" with the media and leaked inflammatory and detrimental documents to them. 

Terry Nichols was McVeigh's accomplice in the Oklahoma City bombing. 

After a federal trial in Colorado, Nichols was sentenced to life in prison for conspiracy and eight counts of involuntary manslaughter. 

Nichols, McVeigh's former Army buddy, also faces state murder charges in Oklahoma, where prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.
