Helmet Saves Life of Girl Who Skied Head-on Into Tree
Tuesday, December 15, 2009
ST. PAUL, Minn. A doctor at Regions Hospital is saying that a helmet saved the life of a 6-year-old girl in a ski accident.
The girl is scheduled to leave the St. Paul hospital on Tuesday. Regions Hospital is the only certified top-level pediatric trauma center in Minnesota -- the next closest is in Milwaukee.
Dr. Michael McGonigal and the girl's family are planning to discuss at a news conference Tuesday morning how the helmet saved the girl's life after she skied head-on into a tree.
