Singer Morrissey has been taken to a hospital after collapsing on stage during a concert, Sky News reported.

Eyewitnesses saw the former Smiths frontman fall to the floor at the start of a show in the U.K.

Onlookers said he was "straining" to perform the song "This Charming Man" and slumped to his knees on stage, according to Sky News.

Two band members rushed to his side and dragged him offstage.

William Pyle told Sky News Online: "Morrissey came on the stage and said 'Good Evening... probably' before starting his 'Charming Man' song."

"You could tell that he was straining with the vocals and then he just started to look really ill."
