A Florida first-grader allegedly robbed a classmate of only $1 at knifepoint in a school bathroom, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

The reported theft happened in a Pines Lakes Elementary School boys room on Nov. 26 when the 7-year-old suspect allegedly held a kitchen knife up to the 6-year-old victim's nose and ordered him to hand over his money.

"This is by no means normal," district spokesman Keith Bromery told the Sun-Sentinel. "This is a very unusual occurrence to see kids that young acting out that way."

The younger child's nose started bleeding during the incident, characterized as an armed robbery, according to schools police operations supervisor Craig Kowalski.

The older boy has been suspended for 10 days and faces expulsion to a school for students with discipline problems, the paper reported. Investigators are deciding whether to file charges.
