One person was killed and four people injured Monday in a shooting at a beauty salon in Brooklyn, N.Y.

One of the wounded was an off-duty policewoman at the De Lux Gallery Inc. in the city's Fort Greene neighborhood, MYFOXNY.com reports.

New York Police Department officials tell FOX News that the shooting occurred at around 1:50 p.m. at the salon. Police said the shooter fled the scene.

According to the salon's Web site, the company "specializes in hairstyles that channel your inner goddess."
