Former wildman slugger and admitted steroid user Jose Canseco was held by immigration authorities at the Mexican border for more than nine hours after agents allegedly found a prescription fertility drug on him, his lawyer said Friday night.
The ex-baseball star was stopped at San Diego's San Ysidro crossing Thursday after agents allegedly spotted human chorionic gonadotropin — a fertility drug that helps produce testosterone — in his car, said attorney Gregory Emerson.
The drug is banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency and is illegal without a prescription.
"Jose is really frustrated," Emerson told The Post. "I think he's angry. Rather than have a reason to subject him to a search and detention, they did it because it was Jose Canseco. And that's not fair."
