A woman was pulled off her flight out of Tucson International Airport Wednesday when luggage screeners found a human skull in her checked bag, News 4 in Tucson reported.

TSA personnel called their supervisors and the cops when a scan of checked baggage on an American Airlines flight to Philadelphia turned up the ghoulish object inside, according to KVOA.com.

The unidentified passenger was taking the skull to Philadelphia for Halloween, according to Tucson police. They subsequently searched the woman’s home, where the skull had been kept in the garden for about four years.

She told police her boyfriend brought the skull back from his military deployment in Okinawa, Japan. A medical examiner's office confirmed that it belonged to a Japanese male in his 20s.

No charges were filed against the woman or her boyfriend, and the passenger was allowed to continue on to Philadelphia.
