ORLANDO —  A woman has filed a defamation lawsuit against the mother of a missing Florida toddler after she claims she was accused of kidnapping the child.

Attorney John Morgan says Zenaida Gonzalez has never met Casey Anthony, who he says accused Gonzalez of taking her daughter Caylee in June.

Gonzalez sued Anthony, 22, on Wednesday in Orlando.

Anthony says she last saw 3-year-old Caylee in June with a baby sitter named Zenaida Gonzalez. Authorities don't believe her.

Todd Black, a spokesman for Anthony's attorney, says this isn't the same Zenaida Gonzalez Anthony left her child with. Black called the lawsuit frivolous.

Anthony remains a "person of interest." She has been charged with child neglect, making false statements and obstruction. She says she doesn't know what happened to Caylee.

Also this week, Anthony said she believed a strong odor in her car came from a dead squirrel, recently released documents show.

During a police interview, Casey Anthony's friend Amy Huizenga said Anthony told friends her car smelled like something had died and theorized that her father had run over an animal.

She told her brother Lee Anthony that a squirrel seemed to have crawled up into the engine before explaining to Huizenga that was an animal stuck on the front of her car, according to the nearly 600 pages of discovery documents released by the State Attorney's Office.

Police said earlier this month that there was evidence of a decomposing body in the trunk of her vehicle.

She also faces unrelated check fraud charges and is currently at home with her parents on house arrest after several stints in the Orange County Jail.
