OKEECHOBEE, Fla. An Okeechobee County man who lost his arm to an alligator will receive a new, highly advanced prosthetic limb on a national television program.
Kasey Edwards, 19, tussled with an 11 1/2-foot gator in June during an early-morning swim in the Nubbin Slough canal in Okeechobee County. The gator chomped off a portion of Edwards' left arm; his limb was later found in the alligator's belly.
Because of the media attention after the attack, Edwards was chosen to appear on an episode of a TV program called The Doctors. On the show, he will get a new prosthetic limb that mimics the true movement and accuracy of the human hand.
