12/17/01: Al Qaeda fighters appear to be defeated in their last stronghold, the Tora Bora mountains. Some Al Qaeda troops were reportedly crying upon being captured, begging not to be turned over to the United States. Usama bin Laden remains at large. Geraldo Rivera reports from Tora Bora. 12/16/01: The last pocket of Al Qaeda resistance appears to be crumbling at Tora Bora.
