Report: Michelle Williams Dating Director Spike Jonze

Thursday, July 24, 2008

Michelle Williams, ex-girlfriend of late actor Heath Ledger, is dating director Spike Jonze, Star magazine reports.

The actress, 27, met Jonze, 38, when she auditioned for a role in his 2006 film adaptation of the children's book "Where the Wild Things Are." Williams won the part, but dropped out of the film, and it wouldn't be until they met again in 2007 that the two would strike up a friendship. Williams starred in the film "Synecdoche, New York," which Jonze produced.

A source told Star magazine that Williams was seen kissing the director, whose ex-wife is Sofia Coppola, outside his New York City apartment.

"There was definitely a bit of caressing going on. She was clutching his arm. The body language was very romantic."

Williams and Ledger separated in September 2007 after three years together, and in January the "Dark Knight" actor died after an accidental overdose of prescription drugs. Williams has a daughter, Matilda, 2, with Ledger.
