As the Batman blockbuster "The Dark Knight" blew away box office records this weekend, the film's star Christian Bale laid low, spending quality time with his family.

JustJarded.com reported that Bale took his daughter Emmaline, 2, to gymnastics class in Los Angeles on Saturday. The 34-year-old Batman star was later joined by wife Sibi Blazic (Winona Ryder’s former personal assistant) and then the three of them were seen departing from LAX airport in Los Angeles, according to reports.

"The Dark Knight" took in a record $155.34 million in its first weekend, topping the previous best of $151.1 million for "Spider-Man 3" in May 2007made $48 million on Saturday, so its total North American weekend take looks to be an estimated $155 million. That beats the latest record holder, Spider-Man 3, which pulled in $151.1 million.
