Warrant Issued to Be Issued After Former 'Family Ties' Star Brian Bonsall Skips Court Hearing

Wednesday, July 16, 2008

BOULDER, Colo. —  A former cast member of the 1980s television show "Family Ties" is named in a bench warrant scheduled to be issued after the former actor failed to show up for a court hearing Wednesday in Boulder.

Brian Bonsall is accused of violating the terms of a two-year probation term he was ordered to serve after he assaulted his girlfriend last year.

Bonsall is accused of missing daily breathalyzer tests, submitting a positive breath test, and failing to pay for domestic violence classes.

He was sentenced last August.

Bonsall portrayed Andy Keaton from 1986 to 1989 on the NBC sitcom.

Bonsall is now 26, lives in Boulder, and has told court officials he plays in a band.
