New Erectile Dysfunction Theory: 'Use It or Lose It'

Monday, July 07, 2008

You know that old adage ‘use it or lose it’?

The saying can now be applied toward men and sex, according to new research involving erectile dysfunction, Reuters reported Monday.

The July issue of the American Journal of Medicine reports that older men who have sex more than once a week are less likely to develop ED.

A Finnish study followed 989 men for five years. The men were between the ages of 55 and 75 at the beginning of the study.

Researchers from the University of Tampere in Finland found that men who had sex less than once per week were twice as likely to develop ED over the five-year period as men who had sex at least once a week.
