PHILADELPHIA — Federal prosecutors said a Philadelphia plea hearing is being postponed for a young beauty charged with identity theft that helped pay for a year of lavish world travel.
Instead, Assistant U.S. Attorney Louis Lappen said Wednesday night prosecutors will ask a judge to revoke bail Thursday for 22-year-old Jocelyn Kirsch. Lappen tells The Philadelphia Inquirer, "The government will move to detain her."
The former Drexel University student and Ivy League boyfriend Edward Anderton were arrested in late December. Anderton pleaded guilty Monday to conspiracy, aggravated identity theft, access-device fraud, bank fraud, and money laundering.
Kirsch's attorney, Ronald Greenblatt, had said she also planned to plead guilty to charges including aggravated identity theft, money laundering and fraud. But she's been on house arrest with electronic monitoring since May 28, when Lappen told a judge she stole a credit card in California while awaiting the plea hearing.
