Bataan: To Hell and Back

Wednesday, October 22, 2003

Saturday, October 25 at 2 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time

Hosted by Lt. Col. Oliver North

This week War Stories brings you the story of how a small group of American rangers were called upon to rescue over 500 American and Allied prisoners of war from a hellish place in the Phillipines called Cabanatuan.

It's one of the darkest chapters in World War II history. The men held at the Cabantuan prisoner of war camp were part of the 78,000 American and Filipino troops who had surrendered to the Japanese in 1942.

These men had survived years of unspeakable torture, starvation and tropical disease.

In this special one-hour broadcast, we'll take you inside the largest and most successful rescue mission of American troops in U.S. Army history.

Please join us for the first of eight special hours of War Stories on the real heroes who fought for freedom on the front lines, not in Hollywood.
