Educator Accused of Smoking Marijuana in Teachers' Lounge

Thursday, May 08, 2008

WAUKEGAN, Ill. —  An Illinois schoolteacher is facing drug charges after she allegedly was caught smoking marijuana in the teachers' lounge at her school, police said.

Waukegan Police Commander Wayne Walles said Deborah Logan, 46, of Evanston, Ill., surrendered to police Monday after she was named in a warrant for unlawful possession of marijuana. She was later released on bond.

Security officials at the Waukegan Township High School Upper Grade Center received a complaint that someone was smoking marijuana in the teachers' lounge and confronted Logan when she left a bathroom there on April 22, Walles said.

Security officials found marijuana in her purse, he said.

There is no telephone listing for a Deborah Logan in Evanston.
