A fire killed three University of Wisconsin-Stout students early Saturday morning at a two-story structure that had two housing units.
University officials say firefighters arrived five minutes after a call to find moderate smoke showing from the basement, first floor and second floor.
The rear unit of the building was evacuated, but rescuers found two females and a male in second floor bedrooms. All three were taken to a hospital where they were pronounced dead.
The victim's identities have not been released. The females were from Chaska, Minnesota, and West St. Paul, Minnesota. The male victim was from Hayward.
