HYATTSVILLE, Md.  —  Police say a 12-year-old boy fatally stabbed a man who was attacking his mother.

Prince George's County police say they were called to a home at 8:25 p.m. Monday and found 64-year-old Salomon Noubissie with a stab wound to the upper body. He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police say the 12-year-old stabbed Noubissie when he saw him choking his mother.

Police say the initial assault was domestic in nature. Both Noubissie and the boy's mother lived in the home. Noubissie and the boy were not related.
