16 Arrested in Twin Cities Anti-War Protest

Thursday, March 27, 2008

16 people were arrested after a group of student protesters entered a National Guard recruiting office on the University of Minnesota campus on Thursday, according to MyFOXTwinCities.com

The group, mostly of students from Macalester College, was there to protest the 5th anniversary of the war in Iraq, according to the report.

Police say two people chained their necks to the door of the recruiting station using bike locks, while others locked arms on the sidewalk.

When asked by a reporter why they didn’t stage their protest on the official 5th anniversary of the Iraq War, one protester said it was because they “were on Spring Break,” MyFOXTwinCities reports.
