A pregnant woman was beaten Wednesday by a man who told her he was going to “make her lose that baby,” police told The Buffalo News.

Police believe the assailant is the father of the unborn child, and he is accused of punching the woman repeatedly in her head, face and body.

The victim suffered cuts and bruises to her face and throat after the early morning attack at her home. The condition of the fetus was unknown, The Buffalo News reports.

The man reportedly told the victim that “her getting pregnant was the worst thing that could happen to him.”

The man broke the woman's cell phone before leaving, The Buffalo News reports.
