LAS VEGAS —  Authorities say a Las Vegas man has been arrested for the murder of his 12-year-old daughter at the family's trailer.

Police say William Redman faces a charge of murder with the use of a deadly weapon.

They say officers were called to the Road Runner RV Park by the child's mother just before noon Wednesday. She told authorities she had returned home from grocery shopping to find her husband with cuts on his arms and her daughter dead inside.

Police found Redman outside the trailer.

He was taken to Sunrise Hospital, where he is in stable condition.

He will be transferred to the Clark County Detention Center once he is released.
