New England Patriots' '19-0' Gear Donated to Charity

Thursday, February 14, 2008

The New England Patriots may have lost the Super Bowl, but children in poor areas of the world won as a result.

The pre-printed shirts and hats declaring the New England Patriots' win and 19-0 season record were waiting in their locker-room for them to throw on at the end of the Super Bowl, but were never unpacked, the New York Post reported.

Instead, they were donated to the World Vision charity, and the first shipment of them were delivered Wednesday to children in Nicaragua, the newspaper reported.

"I like this a lot," one little girl at told the Post. "We never thought we would receive shirts from professional American football players."
