Nov. 5: Whitney Davis, left, and Patricia Porter, sister and mother of Jesse Davis, wait for court proceedings to begin in the death of Davis.
AKRON, Ohio Family members of a pregnant woman killed in northeast Ohio have been given a new home to help them make a fresh start after the tragedy.
Similar to a "reveal" on one of those reality decorating shows, the mother and 2-year-old son of Jessie Davis got a first look Monday evening at the three-bedroom, split-level house where they'll live in Akron.
It was a foreclosure property donated by Countrywide Home Loans, and people from the local building industry volunteered their time to make it over. Stores contributed furniture, appliances and even a new outdoor play set for the boy, Blake.
Davis was found dead in June following a search that drew national attention to the area around her North Canton home. Her boyfriend will be tried in her murder.
