Age Intervention Eyelash Product Seized by FDA, May Be Harmful to Eyes

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says a product that claims to increase eyelash growth may also harm a person's vision, according to a report in the Fresno Bee.

The FDA says it seized more than 12,000 tubes of Age Intervention Eyelash worth a total of $2 million from Jan Marini Skin Research of San Jose, Calif.

The FDA warns that the product contains an unapproved drug that raises the risk of optic nerve damage or swelling or inflammation of the eye.

Jan Marini, the company's president and CEO, told the Fresno Bee the company stopped selling the product in September of last year.
