Whoopi Goldberg Denies Defending Michael Vick

Wednesday, September 05, 2007

NEW YORK  —  Whoopi Goldberg spent her second day on "The View" denying she ever defended Michael Vick.

Goldberg says the media misunderstood when she said she could see how Vick could get into dogfighting growing up in the South. She says the media had her "eating dogs" and "swingin' 'em by the tail."

Goldberg says she was "not condoning" what Vick did.

Barbara Walters then said she'd announce a new permanent member of "The View" on Monday. Goldberg joked, "I was only here a day! You're replacing me already?"

Actually, it'll be Star Jones' replacement.
