Dr. Robert Ashton

Dr. Robert Ashton joined FOX News Channel as a medical contributor in 2006. Dr. Ashton is currently chief of Thoracic Surgery and co-director of Thoracic Oncology at Hackensack University Medical Center. He is board certified in both thoracic and general surgery. Often, Dr. Robert Ashton appears on air with his wife and fellow FNC medical contributor, Dr. Jennifer Ashton.

Dr. Ashton is an active member of several societies including the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and the American College of Chest Physicians. Dr Ashton has been active in research during his professional career. He has published over 40 papers and abstracts, written several book chapters, and presented at many national and international meetings.

Dr. Ashton received his medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania and completed his surgical training Pittsburgh. He received his undergraduate degree in biology and philosophy from Muhlenberg College.
