Cat Lovers: Your Pudgy Pets At-Risk for Diabetes

Fat cats are just not purr-fect and their owners are being told to stop spoiling their pets.
A study by the University of Edinburgh claims overweight cats are about three times more likely to suffer from obesity-related diabetes.
Cat lovers are being warned to cut down on treats for their pets to avoid the risk of them developing the potentially-fatal condition.

Neutered males that do not get adequate exercise are said to be particularly at risk.
The university's Professor Danielle Gunn-Moore said: "Unfortunately, just like people, cats will overeat if they are offered too much tasty food, particularly if they are bored and have little else to do."
